"I have always been the person that never cared about the number on the scale. However, over the past 5 years my weight has slowly climbed. Everything I would do that I felt should result in weight loss did nothing but make the scale climb. I got to the point where I was thinking this is my life. I am meant to be heavy and not slimmer or healthier. I have a thyroid condition and for that reason I need to settle and accept what I weight. I first reached out to McKenna in October 2020 to possibly work with her to help me lose weight. After our conversation I remember telling her, I’m going to give it one more try on my own because why wouldn’t I. I mean the last 5 years haven’t been successful on my own! I know what I need to do so I can do it. I am a stubborn person 😊

Over the next 8 months, you got it the scale toppled to an all-time high of 232lbs (I’m 5’2”) so clearly, I didn’t have it still. During those 8 months I finished my master’s degree and changed jobs, so I had two big stressors out of my life and now it was time to focus on me. I was no longer accepting of not being healthy and confident. That’s when I reached out to McKenna in June of 2021 and learned so much about myself and know why I was struggling. I have dropped 13lbs since June 7th but have had so many more victories during this time. Right after I started working with McKenna I started traveling every week for work. I was not traveling before. So I don’t have the convenience of my kitchen and controlling what I make. I have to make the right choices on the road. Not easy, but McKenna has been there for me guiding me the entire time. I now grab the yogurt and protein bar vs the sugary pastry at the airport. I’ve learned what I can pack in my carry on so I have extra protein with me. I didn’t realize prior to working with McKenna how I was doing so many mindless things including not eating enough.

I struggled with the psychological aspect of this journey for the first 2 to 3 weeks of the program. I struggle with tracking but have learned that once you know what you need to do you don’t have to track. You have to just be mindful of your choices and keep the “why” at the forefront of every decision you make. I would put everyone first and I am learning I cannot do this. I am just as important if not more important than everyone else. McKenna has helped me to realize this. I would encourage anyone that is struggling and feels like there is no hope to reach out and talk to McKenna. It is an investment in you and the only person that is going to look out for you is you!"
